Post Malone, Wade, Turner, Lynne release CDs today

Friday, August 16, 2024 – Post Malone presents one of the most anticipated albums of the year, his debut country album, "F-1 Trillion," out now via Mercury Records/REPUBLIC in collaboration with Big Loud. The songs include Dolly Parton, Hank Williams JR., and Tim McGraw as well as Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton. Post already has enjoyed hits with "I Need Some Help" with Morgan Wallen and "I Need a Drink" with Blake Shelton.

Morgan Wade, who first came on the scene with her hit "Wilder Days," is out with her third album, "Obsessed." (Sony Music Nashville). An entirely solo-written 14-track collection, "Obsessed" was produced by her touring guitarist Clint Wells. Kesha sings on the song "Walked on Water."

Josh Turner released his 10th studio album, "This Country Music Thing" on MCA Nashville. This is his first release since 2017's "Deep South," Produced by Kenny Greenberg, the release contains 11 tracks.

Only weeks after the rerelease of her seminal "I Am Shelby Lynne" release, the singer put out "Consequences Of The Crown" on Monument Records. Produced by Lynne, Karen Fairchild of Little Big Towne, Ashley Monroe and Gena Johnson, "Consequences of the Crown" is Lynne's first new album since returning to Nashville after 25 years away. Across 12 genre-blending tracks, Lynne chronicles her experiences with heartbreak and loss plus the powerful transformation and growth that comes with both.

Muscadine Bloodline, the country music duo of Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, released their new album, "The Coastal Plain." This is the duo's fourth studio album released on Stancaster Music via Thirty Tigers. Produced by Stanton and Muncaster, alongside their long-time collaborator Ryan Youmans (known for his work with Jelly Roll), the record draws from their personal histories of the people and landscapes of their southern Alabama upbringing. Across the album's 14 tracks, the duo blends classic country, roots and gospel influences.

Bluegrass singer Dan Tyminski is out today with "Live at the Ryman" via 8 Track Entertainment. "Cumberland Gap," "Ode to Jimmy" (a tribute to Tyminski's childhood hero, Jimmy Martin), "Silence in the Brandy" and "GOAT" all appeared on "God Fearing Heathen," which debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart in 2023—and breathes new life into older material like the "This Sad Song," which Tyminski first performed on Alison Krauss & Union Station's "Lonely Runs Both Ways."

With one track, "80's Movie," Morgan Wade's producer (Sadler Vaden) has tried awfully hard to brighten the singer/songwriter's sound. With her multi-tracked lead vocals, this – and other tracks on her "Psychopath" album - have a pop-ish, girl group sound. This sonic is likely more appealing than the raw emotion she expressed with her single, "Wilder Days." The title track is about a guy that thinks Wade is a psychopath, but he's likely not ...
CD review - God Fearing Heathen No one can accuse Dan Tyminski of rushing product to market. "God Fearing Heathen" is the 14-time Grammy winner's first solo album in six years, and it's his first bluegrass album in 15 years. It's also his first-ever album of original bluegrass songs. Tyminski, who has been a member of Alison Krauss & Union Station for nearly 30 years, earned international solo fame when he provided the vocal for George Clooney's performance of "Man of Constant ...
CD review - Shelby Lynne Shelby Lynne has always been ahead of her time. The cover for this eponymous album, her 13th solo album and first since 2015's "I Can't Imagine," appears to be another example of her prescience. Though it had to be put together long before the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, it shows her wearing a facial mask and a look of fear. Coincidence, no doubt, but an eerie one. Don't worry though, this is not a collection of songs about social distancing and searching for Charmin. ...
