Bryan, Strings, Marlowe, Guyton release new discs
Bluegrass star Billy Strings put out "Highway Prayers" on Reprise. Produced by Strings and Jon Brion, "Highway Prayers" consists of 20 original songs including the previously released tracks "Seven Weeks in County," "Stratosphere Blues / I Believe In You" and "Leadfoot." Recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville, the CD features Strings and his longtime band — Billy Failing (banjo, vocals), Royal Masat (bass, vocals), Jarrod Walker (mandolin, vocals) and Alex Hargraves (fiddle)—as well as additional contributions from Brion (bass, drums, percussion), Matt Chamberlain (drums), Jerry Douglas (Dobro), Jason Carter (fiddle), Lindsay Lou (backing vocals), Nathaniel Smith (cello), Taneka Samone (backing vocals), Cory Henry (piano), Peter "Madcat" Ruth (harmonica, jaw harp) and Victor Furtado (clawhammer banjo).
Dylan Marlowe debuts with "Mid-Twenties Crisis" on Sony Nashville. Marlowe wrote every song on his album and penning the title track solo. With the majority of the songs produced by Joe Fox and "The Fence" produced by Mikey Reeves, the project will include 15 tracks, including a collaboration with Riley Green (Stick to Your Guns").
Cody Jinks arrives with the re-release of his 2012 album, "30," with "Backside of 30," via his Late August Records. "Backside of 30" was remastered by Adam Grover and remixed by Nick Choate the project was originally recorded at Rosewood Studios in Tyler, Texas and Blue Smoke Studios in Ft. Worth, Texas and encapsulates his Texas roots and highlights his southern sound. On the album are the 10 original tracks as well as new song, "When The New Wears Off."
Mickey Guyton is out with "House On Fire" on Capitol Records Nashville. This is the follow-up to her 2021 full-length debut, "Remember Her Name." Guyton often has written about her experiences as a Black person in America.
Brett Eldredge's "Merry Christmas (Welcome to the Family)," his eighth full-length LP and third-holiday album, is out via his own Warm and Cozy Records. The album is a collection of eight original holiday songs. The album features "Sweet December," a duet with Kelly Clarkson. Also included is "The Night St. Nick Got Sick" and "Who Will You Be Kissing on New Year's Eve?" featuring Idarose.
Indiana native Dylan Schneider released his debut album, "Puzzled," on Broken Bow. Schneider co-wrote 15 of the 16 songs; he wrote the title track by himself. The album, which includes rock and pop country, was produced by Zach Abend, Lalo Guzman and Gabe Foust.
The Reklaws, the Canadian CCMA-winning duo of Stuart and Jenna Walker, shared "Outliving (For Mom)," on what would have been their mom's 60th birthday. She unexpectedly passed away two years ago at 60. The three new tracks, available on the same day they launch the 'Flo Walker Stardust Fund' in partnership with Kids Help Phone, serve as a heartfelt tribute to their mother, in addition to a new live version of their viral emotional track "People Don't Talk About."
