Dan + Shay, Green, Flores, BRELAND release new music
Dan + Shay released their first-ever holiday album, "It's Officially Christmas: The Double Album," via Warner Music Nashville. The duo made a special two-LP colored vinyl version of the new music. For the past 10 years, Dan + Shay have put this project on their list for Santa. The disc features 21 songs; 10 traditional, well-known standards ("Disc 1") and 11 originals written/co-written by Dan + Shay, including three written solely by Smyers himself. He produced with Scott Hendricks.
Green, an Alabama native, released "Don't Mind If I Do" on Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. Green helped write 10 of the 18 songs, writing four songs solo. The title track finds Green reuniting with his "you look like you love me" duet partner Ella Langley Dann Huff produced the project along with Executive Producers Scott Borchetta and Jimmy Harnen. "Reel Problems" features Luke Bryan.
Wyatt Flores makes his full-length debut with "Welcome To The Plains" on Island Records. The Oklahoma native released an EP earlier this year. Flores has seen his star raise over the past year, winning much acclaim for his recordings and live performances.
Midland dished out the deluxe version of "Barely Blue," adding duet versions of previously released tracks "Vegas" and "Lone Star State of Mind," featuring breakout artists Kaitlin Butts and Paul Cauthen respectively. Dave Cobb produced the music.
BRELAND returns with "Project 2024," a six-song EP on Bad Realm Records/Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville with country, hip hop and gospel part of the mix. The music was inspired by BRELAND's trip to Selma, Ala., the city of his great grandmother and great-great grandmother. The closing cut, "Same Work," features The War and Treaty.
Ray Charles' Tangerine Records releases remastered reissues of Charles' classic albums "Country And Western Meets Rhythm And Blues" and "Crying Time," out now on vinyl, CD and all streaming platforms. This marks the first time the two albums have been available on vinyl since their original pressing, part of a rollout of five albums from Charles' catalog this fall, celebrating his impact on country music. Following the recent reissues of Charles' groundbreaking "Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music" and "Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music Vol. 2" and capped off by the "Best of Country & Western" compilation on Nov. 15, this series celebrates Charles' influence in country music.
Canadian singer Noeline Hoffman her debut EP, "Purple Gas," on La Honerda Records. Hofmann's "Purple Gas," has already garnered notice after catching attention online from Zach Bryan, who, after asked Hofmann to record it with him as a duet for his new album, "The Great American Bar Scene."
Blanco Brown released the last of three EPs, "Back 2 Basics," featuring four songs. He previously released "Heartache & Lemonade" and "Cedar Walls & Whiskey." Brown also produced the set.
Tiera Kennedy offered her debut, "Rooted." The 11-track, Cameron Bedell-produced project features a collaboration with American Idol star Jordin Sparks, "Damn If He Don't Love Me," "Can't Help My Country" and new single "Keep Your Promises."
Chris Jones & The Night Drivers' mandolinist Mark Stoffel is out with "True Tones." Stoffell utilizes Celtic, swing, country, soul, rock and jazz among the 11 songs. Working with co-producer Josh Morrison, the southern Illinois picker assembled banjo players Gina Furtado, Marc Pruett (Balsam Range), Kyle Triplett and Jens Kruger; guitarists Morrison, Chris Luquette and longtime colleague Nathan Clark George; fiddlers Malia Furtado and Niall Murphy; bassists Ross Sermons and Marshall Wilborn and studio drummer Tony Creasman, along with acclaimed fellow mandolinist Alan Bibey, who appears on "I'm Using My Bible for a Road Map" together with resophonic guitarist Rob Ickes.
Red Street Records' Ryan Larkins released his latest EP, "Bones," a four-song collection. Produced by Paul Sikes, Seth Mosely, Brad Hill and Connie Harrington, the EP includes previously released tracks, "Bones" and "Home State" plus new songs "Here For a Reason" and "Buzzin."
Twisted Pine release their joyous third LP, "Love Your Mind." Twisted Pine has been considered a progressive bluegrass band, but is said to have expanded their sound. The disc was recorded in Boston.
