The Band Loula get away with murder
Produced by John Osborne, one half of Grammy-winning duo Brothers Osborne, and written by The Band Loula's Malachi Mills and Logan Simmons alongside Gary Nichols, "Marshall County Man" explores every detail of a love gone sour and its murderous fate.
"We crafted 'Marshall County Man' in the heart of Muscle Shoals, Ala., alongside our friend Gary Nichols," said Mills and Simmons in a statement. "Our session began with writing a completely different song, but after hitting a creative wall late into the night, Gary suggested, 'What if we wrote an Alabama murder ballad instead?' That idea lit all of us up, and the story came together quickly after."
"The following day, we added a twist by introducing the 'Mama' character. For nearly two years, 'Marshall County Man' has been one of our signature songs and a staple in our live performances. We're excited to release it into the world, allowing us to share the story with our new fans across the country."
Two best friends, each an artist in their own right, Mills and Simmons signed to Warner Music Nashville and UMPG Nashville. They're currently in the studio with Osborne and have spent the year touring with artists like Brothers Osborne, Ashley McBryde, Paul Cauthen and Brent Cobb. The Band Loula will open for Elle King through November.
