Sony signs King

Friday, January 10, 2025 – Fayetteville, Ga. native Zach John King signed with label Sony Music Nashville. King also released the song "Slow Down."

King said, "I'm so dang grateful to be with such a stellar team. They've been there since day one and have been behind some of my favorite artists of all time. I'm proud to have a home team here in Nashville. I'm ready to get to work."

"Slow Down" was produced by Ryan Wilson. King wrote the song with Thomas Archer, Kyle Fishman and Michael Tyler. "Slow Down" tells the story of a narrator reflecting on a failed relationship, haunted by the memory of his ex. King also released a music video to accompany the track, filmed in his home state of Georgia .

"We wanted to capture the feeling of seeing someone you loved move on quickly and the pain of not being able to get them off your mind. It's a story that I think a lot of people can relate to — that classic small-town experience where, after a breakup, there's no escaping the memories. In a town that small, they follow you around everywhere, no matter where you go," King said. "I love the vibe and the beat behind this song. It's also a chance for my fans to hear something musically different from what I've released in the past, with more variety and depth to my sound. Writing songs that people can connect with is one of my favorite things to do, and I think most people have been through something like this at some point."

King, who merges country and rock, toured last year with Conner Smith and Logan Crosby. This year, King will join Vincent Mason as an opener on Mason's "Hell Is A Dance Floor Tour."

A fan of everything from George Jones and Otis Redding to The Police, Third Eye Blind, Switchfoot, and Biz Markie, King fronted an indie-rock band through college before making the move to Nashville in 2021. He released his first solo track in 2023, "Just Missed You." Last year, he put out "Wannabe Cowboy." At the end year, he dropped "Hole In the Wall."
