Hurd gives some of that "Midwest Rock & Roll"
Co-penning all 12 tracks on the new project, Hurd pays homage to his midwestern roots and explores the aftermath of leaving his home behind in chase of a dream.
Hurd, 38, previously released the disc "Pelago" on Sony in 2021.
"Midwest Rock & Roll is my second full length album, and I am really proud of how it sounds, what it says and how it ended up being released," said Hurd. "It's a coming-of-age album that feels like playing in your first band."
Hurd wrote the song "Die For it" with Mark Holman and Randy Montana, "Die For It" acknowledges that, in giving your entire self to someone.
"'Die For It' is a song about love in all forms," said Hurd, who was married to Maren Morris. "I love the way this track sounds and how much it informs the rest of my album, and I hope my fans really love the direction that my music is taking."

Hurd previously released four EPs. His biggest success on the charts was his duet with Morris, "Chasing After You," in 2021. The song went top five. He also scored a top 25 song with "To a T" in 2018.
