Adkins wonders "What Color's Your Wild"
Written by Monty Criswell and Casey Beathard, the song was produced by Bart Butler. The song features electric guitars and thumping drums matching the baritone Adkins as he sings the striking chorus, "What color's your wild, what cranks the dial on your radio / What moves your needle baby what makes your speakers blow / What makes you crazy like a loving life sugar high, child / What color's your wild?"
Joining NBC's TODAY on Wednesday, March 5, Adkins will make the TV debut performance of "What Color's Your Wild" as the accompanying cinematic music video directed by Mike Stryker will premiere on CMT, CMT Music, CMT Equal Play, and the Paramount Times Square Billboard at noon and 5 p.m. eastern time.
The new release follows last week's announcement of the headlining WHAT COLOR'S YOUR WILD TOUR – set to kick off March 29 in Du Quoin, Ill. Adkins also will play dates on Blake Shelton's new tour.
Adkins' last album was "The Way I Wanna Go" on Verge in 2021.

CD reviews for Trace Adkins
Anybody with staying power in the modern country music landscape must have found a four-leaf clover and a niche. Trace Adkins hearkens back to a time when country stars included more Alpha males. He's got a baritone as deep as an oil well and stands eye-to-eye with quite a few pro basketball players. It's enough presence to show up on screen, and Adkins has had more than one foray into film over the 30-plus years he's been singing for his supper.
Now approaching 60, you wonder if ...
Trace Adkins' wonderful low singing voice can be a little deceptive because he could easily sing utter crap and still somehow sound great. It's why the critical ear must pay close attention to specifically what he's saying in his songs whenever evaluating his work. Adkins doesn't write his own songs, so he's entirely dependent upon stellar writers. Thankfully, "Something's Going On" is a better than average collection of songs, especially good for Adkins, as ...
"Live Country" is a concert film featuring Trace Adkins performing his biggest hits at The Paramount in Huntington, N.Y. Anticipation was high for this one because Adkins, along with Josh Turner, is one of our very best low-voiced singers. Perhaps poor audio quality is to blame, but Adkins' singing isn't nearly as powerful in this live setting as it is on CD.
From the cheesy stage props to the casually dressed backing singers (one even has a headband that leaves her looking ...
