Langley, Wilson clean up at ACM Awards

Thursday, May 8, 2025 – Ella Langley led the Academy of Country Music Awards nominations with eight, and she had great night on Thursday when they were handed out, taking home five.

Lainey Wilson won the biggest honor of the night, Entertainer of the Year, one of four awards she would take home. She also won Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for "Whirlwind" as did producer Jay Joyce and Wilson's label, BBR Music Group / BMG Nashville and Artist-Songwriter of the Year.

Langley won New Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year with Riley Green for "you look like you love me" as did producer: Will Bundy and record label. SAWGOD / Columbia Records. Langley, Green, Bundy and the label also received the Musical Event of the Year award. Green and Lanagley also received dthe Visual Event of the Year honor for the same song along with producer Alex Pescosta and directors John Park, Wales Toney and Langley.

Zach Top scored New Male Artist of the Year, which was previously disclosed as was The Red Clay Stray's win for Best New Duo or Group of the Year.

Male artist of the year went to Chris Stapleton. Duo of the year was handed out to Brooks & Dunn.

Ella Langley's duet with Riley Green,"You Look Like You Love Me," was named Single for the Year.

Song of the Year went to Cody Johnson for "Dirt Cheap" along with fellow songwriter Josh Phillips and publishers Warner-Tamerlane Publishing; Write or Die Music; Write the Lightning Publishing.

Old Dominion seems to dominate the Group of the Year category, and tonight was no exception. With their eighth consecutive award in the category, Old Dominion breaks the records for the most "Group of the Year" wins of all time and the most consecutive wins in the category.

"It's an unbelievable honor to be a part of the fabric of country music" lead singer Matthew Ramsey said. "Thank you for making us come up here and take that in 8 years in a row."

The inaugural honor of the ACM Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award were to its namesake, Jackson, after he sang "Remember When."

Chris Stapleton, Megan Moroney and Brothers Osborne paid tribute to Keith Urban - who was honored with the coveted ACM Triple Crown Award - by covering some of his greatest hits, including "Stupid Boy," "Blue Ain't Your Color" and "Where The Blacktop Ends," during which Urban joined Brothers Osborne on stage.

Jessie Jo Dillon received the honor for Songwriter of the Year.

The awards show started with a 14-minute medley of six decades of country classics.

Reba McEntire, who hosted, kicked it off with Merle Haggard's "Okie from Muskogee," followed by Clint Black with Glen Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy." Wynonna Judd tackled The Judds' "Why Not Me." LeAnn Rimes went back 28 years to the song that launched her career, the ballad "Blue." Little Big Town reprised their 2014 track "Girl Crush," and Dan + Shay were back with "Tequila."
