The Castellows are "Broke"
Penned by the three sisters (Ellie Balkcom, Powell Balkcom, and Lily Balkcom) along with Erik Dylan, the traditional track illustrates a love story from the point of view of a coal miner's wife.
"'Broke' was one of the first songs we wrote in town, so we'd been wanting to cut it for a really long time," The Castellows said in a press release. "There are a lot of great songs about coal miners that are out there, and we kinda wanted to have our own. We created this story, and like any story, you connect with the emotions of the people in the song. 'Broke' shows the artistic side of writing and storytelling through song. We've always loved songs that tell a story and lyrics that help you picture it in your head."
"Homecoming" will be out May 40.
