Kelley drops two more songs
The record is out June 25.
"'Can't Be Alone Tonight" very well might be my favorite off the record. Lyrically, I pulled from the nights of my first week in treatment when all I wanted was to be beside my wife and tell her how much I needed and loved her. I'll never forget that feeling of absolute heartbreak, desperation and yearning," said Kelley. "On the other hand, 'Take Back Goodbye' was such a fun one to bring to life. From the sax solo to the key change, it hits all those '80s elements that I grew up loving. Mark Douthit absolutely crushed his saxophone solo and took it to the next level."
The new disc, which contains 16 songs, hearkens back to '80s pop. Produced mainly by Sam Ellis and Lindsay Rimes and with Kelley co-penning all the original songs, the album is diverse among genres.
Kelley already released "Can't Lose You," which made a splash on the Adult Contemporary radio charts and is currently Top 15. "Here With Me" is a reimagined deep cut from The Killers, along with "Run" and "Driving And Listening To Music."

Lady Antebellum may lean a little too closely to pop music for many tastes, but it's hard to argue with the trio's song choices. And its latest collection is filled with many memorable songs.
The single "What If I Never Get Over You," poses a rarely asked pop song question. Humans have come to believe the cliché, 'Time heals all wounds,' as if it were some sort of scientific fact. But what if it's just that, a well-worn cliché, with no actual ...
Lady Antebellum may cause you to throw out many of your country music principles. They don't sing and play traditional country music, for starters. They're not cool like more rocking Americana artists. In fact, they're huge mainstream country stars. So, why are some of us still suckers for their sound? And why does the new "Heart Break" sound so good on the ears? Well, it's simple, but complicated.
Hillary Scott is simply a wonderfully sincere singer. ...
Many artists find inspiration from pain or life changing events. Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley got his out of sheer boredom, and it resulted in a Grammy nomination. The title track off of his first solo album, "The Driver," is up for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. With Lady A on hiatus, Kelley thought, "It's winter." "I'm bored and I want to make some music." He contacted producer Paul Worley to test drive the title track and a few others he ...
