Jinks considers "The Others"
This is the third track to be released from his forthcoming album, "In My Blood," due July 25. Jinks also released the official music video for the track.
The official music video, directed by Tim Cofield and filmed in Chattanooga, Tenn., features Jinks and his band performing in a bar filled with misfits and drifters. As the video unfolds, the crowd comes together, drawn in by the music and the shared sense of belonging it creates.
"In My Blood' is Jinks' 11th studio album. Produced by Joshua Thompson and Charles Godfrey, the album leans into a darker, more soulful sound, fusing outlaw country with South rock.
The track list is:
1. Better Than the Bottle
2. Lost Highway
3. The Others
4. In My Blood (featuring Blackberry Smoke)
5. Something Wicked This Way Comes
6. See the Man
7. When You Can't Remember

While he tends to limit himself to writing of current circumstances — life on the road, pursuing music and changing behavior — he does so very well. Featuring fellow road warriors Blackberry Smoke, "In My Blood" lays it out:

Cody Jinks stands defiantly among the generation that grew up with country music, but chose a louder, more aggressive outlet for their creative expressions. As a teenager, the native Texan learned country licks from his father, but channeled his high school angst and anger through the lens of heavy metal and thrash. When his band broke up in 2004, Jinks took a musical hiatus, emerging a year later as a more overtly country artist and releasing his debut solo album, "Collector's Item," in 2006. ...
