Childers, Westbrook, Jinks dish out new records

Friday, July 25, 2025 – Tyler Childers is out with "Snipe Hunter" via Hickman Holler Records/RCA Records. Rick Rubin produced the record with additional production from Childers and Sylvan Esso's Nick Sanborn. The disc contains 13 songs including the song "Oneida." "Nose on the Grindstone," which was officially released last month, is included after years of being played on the road.

Hudson Westbrook makes his debut with "Texas Forever" on Warner Music Nashville/River House Artists. Westbrook, who plays country/Red Dirt music, had a hand in writing all 17 songs. MacKenzie Carpenter helps out on "Lie To Me." After a 2024 debut with viral first release "Take It Slow," Westbrook strung together a series of grassroots hits while enrolled at Texas Tech University, including debut Texas radio single and chart-topper, "Two Way Drive," and debut single to country radio, "House Again."

Cody Jinks takes a different turn musically with "In My Blood" on his own Late August Records. Produced by Joshua Thompson and Charles Godfrey, the album leans into a darker, more soulful sound, while incorporating Outlaw Country and Southern rock. The release contains 11 songs.

Patty Griffin is out with "Crown of Roses," her 11th studio collection and first in over six years. The disc was produced by longtime collaborator Craig Ross and features musical contributions from her band members David Pulkingham (guitar) and Michael Longoria (drums).

The scenes depicted in these songs are so vivid and evocative that listeners are left to ponder if these are autobiographical stories or works of fiction. There is no better example here than "Banded Clovis," a ...
