Price is on a "Losing Streak"
The songs recalls Price's days of sleeping off a three-day party in the backseat of her '91 Ford Explorer, moving to town with a handful of half-finished songs, spending two weeks in the same clothes on the brink of a mental meltdown, lost and slipping low, wondering why she left home and came down in Music City at all. The country rocker shows resilience in the face of tough times.
"'Losing Streak' tells the story of my early years coming up in Nashville. It is a coming-of-age story inspired by struggle, substances and the search for the perfect song. It was co-written with my husband and songwriting partner, Jeremy Ivey," said Price.
This is the latest preview of Price's forthcoming album, "Hard Headed Woman," out Aug. 29. Reunited with producer Matt Ross-Spang ("Midwest Farmer's Daughter," "All American Made"), and recorded in the RCA Studio A, "Hard Headed Woman" is the first album Price has made in Nashville, a town she has called home for more than 20 years.
Price has recently released Hard Headed Woman's freewheeling "Don't Wake Me Up" (featuring Jesse Welles), with a video paying homage to Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues," and "Don't Let The Bastards Get You Down," an underdog anthem that nods to Kris Kristofferson, Sinéad O'Connor, The Handmaid's Tale and co-writer Rodney Crowell. She also played at Newport Folk Festival, playing the mainstage with special appearances from Jesse Welles and John C. Reilly, covering Bob Dylan and Dolly Parton, drumming on a showstopping rendition of "Rockin' in the Free World" with Lukas Nelson, Stephen Wilson Jr. and Joe Russo.
Having just wrapped a stint of shows with Mumford and Sons, Price will be on the road this October and November for her Wild At Heart Tour. Backed by a brand new live band and armed with her newly-launched, signature Gibson J-45 guitar, the run features two dozen headline dates throughout North America, including Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

CD reviews for Margo Price
Is Margo Price hard headed? Well, that's one way to describe someone who never compromises on her principles or her musical vision. Maybe "outlaw" is a nicer, not to mention more accurate, term, though, since Margo may be single-handedly keeping the original spirit of outlaw country music alive. Her sixth album is chock full of the attitude, humor and hard-won wisdom that she is famous – and sometimes controversial – for.
Her commitment to the outlaw movement roots is ...
Margo Price recorded "That's How Rumors Get Started" in Los Angeles, and it doesn't take long to pick up on a distinct El Lay sound driving this 10-song collection. The opener (and title track) finds Price sounding a lot like "Rumors" era Fleetwood Mac - specifically vocally echoing Stevie Nicks. Four songs in, with "Stone Me," Benmont Tench (of Tom Petty's Heartbreakers, one of Nicks' favorite bands) adds piano. "That's How Rumors Get ...
Margo Price's surprise EP, "Weakness," is a pleasant surprise, indeed. It may be concise, but it's packed tightly with good stuff.
The project's title cut is a bit confessional and finds Price admitting, "Sometimes my weakness is stronger than me." Price sings it like a down home cowgirl, over a toe-tapping beat. She follows this upbeat track with a moody piece called "Just Like Love," which is played in a minor key, and is a "Jolene"-esque meditation. ...
