Wilson, Old Dominion, The Band Loula offer new music

Friday, August 22, 2025 – The new deluxe version of Lainey Wilson's award-winning album, "Whirlwind," is out via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. In addition to the original 14 songs on "Whirlwind," the new extended edition features five additional tracks: "Bell Bottoms Up," "King Ranch, King George, King James," "Yesterday, All Day, Every Day," "Peace, Love, and Cowboys" and Wilson's current single, "Somewhere Over Laredo."

Seven-time Country Music Association and eight-time Academy of Country "Music "Group of the Year" winner Old Dominion release their sixth studio album, "Barbara, via Sony Music Nashville. The record contains 13 songs including Goodnight Music City."

Country duo The Band Loula's debut EP, "Sweet Southern Summer," is out via Warner Music Nashville. The duo - Logan Simmons and Malachi Mills - put six songs on the release covering gospel hymns, blues, and their north Georgia roots. John Osborne of Brothers Osborne and Greg Bieck produced the set.

To honor their five-decade mark in the Lone Star State, Western Swing mainstays Asleep At The Wheel dedica, AATW,ted their 32nd album to the adopted home. "It's been 55 years for Asleep At The Wheel as a band, and 50 of them have been spent in Texas," said founder and lead singer Ray Benson. Out now via Bismeaux Records and Signature Sounds Recordings, "Riding High In Texas" is a 10-song collection of some of the best songs about the 28th state from songwriters like Jimmie Rogers, Guy Clark and Charlie Daniels with collaborations with Lyle Lovett and Billy Strings.

Texas native MaRynn Taylor is out with her debut, "MaRynn," on Black River Entertainment.

East Nash Grass does things a little differently. Featuring five new originals, two deep-cut covers, two tunes from friends and a string-band reimagining of a traditional Liberian chant is East Nash Grass' "All God's Children" on Mountain Fever Records. The IBMA 2024 New Group of the Year consists of Harry Clark (mandolin), Cory Walker (banjo), James Kee (guitar), Maddie Denton (fiddle) and Jeff Partin's (bass/Dobro).

Russell Dickerson debuts his fourth studio album, "Famous Back Home" today via Triple Tigers. The singer helped write 10 of the 13 songs. Dickerson co-produced with longtime collaborator Josh Kerr.

Walker Hayes unveils "17 Problems" on RCA Records. The record incluedes the acoustic-driven "17 Year Old Problems," where Hayes longs for the simplicity of youth ("I want my 17-year-old problems back"), and the spiritual gut-punch "Song For My Son" featuring Kane Brown, in which Hayes pleads for divine guidance as a father. Colbir Caillat guests on "Adderall."

Austin Snell is out with the EP "Home Sweet Hell" via River House Artists/Warner Music Nashville. Produced by Andrew Baylis, the EP finds the Nashville-based singer-songwriter examining an upbringing steeped in hard lessons, raised at the crossroads of garage-rocking grit and country grace. "Home Sweet Hell" follows the soul-baring "Family Tree." The seven-track EP also includes the previously released twang-metal songs "Drunk," "Miles," "I Mean It" and "Heavy Metal."
