Hayes plans acoustic tour
Hayes announces the Walker Hayes: Unplugged Tour, an 18-date, stripped-back acoustic show with storytelling and singing.
Ahead of the Unplugged tour, Hayes will make his Grand Ole Opry debut on Aug. 29.

CD reviews for Walker Hayes
Walker Hayes has a lot of Sam Hunt in his music, in that he mixes a lot of hip-hop in with his country. Traditionalists will have trouble with his unorthodox approach. Kids, though, raised on just as much Drake as Paisley, will likely eat it up. A few years back, it was Lynyrd Skynyrd and Allman Brothers (mixed with a touch of AC/DC) influencing country sounds. On his debut, Walker Hayes seems to be aiming for the tongue-in-cheek country rock territory inhabited by Brad Paisley. But without the obvious undercurrent of good humor and genuine affection that softens Paisley's work, he paints a rather grim picture of the state of male-female relations.
Hayes has apparently yet to meet a sexual metaphor he can't put to bad use. It's only four songs long, and from beginning to end, the EP maintains a firm focus on sex. ...
