Jim Reeves guitarist Leo Jackson dies

Monday, May 5, 2008 – Leo Jackson, guitarist for 10 years for Jim Reeves, died of cancer, it was reported Monday. Jackson was in his 70s.

Jackson started playing guitar when he was a teenager with Reeves, while Reeves was still at the Louisiana Hayride. Jackson played on most of Reeves' hit records. Jackson went on to become a top session guitar player and played on the early groundbreaking Alabama records.
