Jason Michael Carroll releases new single

Thursday, November 6, 2008 – Jason Michael Carroll is hitting the airwaves with Where I'm From, the first single from his new album, arriving in 2009. Carroll had two top five singles, Alyssa Lies and Livin' Our Love Song from his debut. Where I'm From is at radio now and going for adds on Monday.

The new single, written by Patrick Davis and Joe Leathers, is about people discovering shared values whose lives might otherwise seem very different. "That's one of my favorite things about 'Where I'm From,'" Carroll said, recalling an occasion similar to the song's lyrics when he unexpectedly found himself in first class on a flight last year. "It was really nice." While initially feeling a bit out of place, he said, "It's really cool to see that, as different as people can be, a lot of things can hit home just by talking and realizing that we're really not that different after all."

An album release date has yet to be set.

There's little of the soul and personal touch that made songs from previous ...

At this stage in your career, you should probably be thinking about ways to make yourself stand out from the ever-increasing crowd of the next king of country music wannabes. It's not enough to have three names (just ask Earl Thomas Conley or Jason Michael Montgomery. ...
CD review - Waitin' in the Country It seems like now is the time for country vocalists with deep, rich voices to be heard, and Jason Michael Carroll will certainly be heard. Versatility and passion are the traits that best serve his sometimes rumbling vocals. Carroll took a step away from his North Carolina fundamentalist upbringing to make the secular music forbidden at home. That act of rebellion isn't lost in his music as it burns across songs with social implications, like the first single (and hit) off his album, ...
