Jake Owen hits GMA on CD release day

Friday, February 20, 2009 – Jake Owen will kick off his album release day Tuesday of "Easy Does It" with a return visit to ABC's Good Morning America for a performance that will include the first single, the Top 10 Don't Think I Can't Love You.

Owen wrote 8 of the 10 songs on the CD. "I'm pretty fortunate to be around a lot of people that I look up to, and I think the common consistent lesson that I learn from all of them is that it's all about truth. Maybe it's not truth per se as far as your own life, but it's all about being truthful about today's society, about what people think or do. I made the record saying it how I want to say it. This is what I am...this is what I sing about...this is what I do. I love to hear where people come from. I like to hear what they're all about, and that's what makes music so different."

Owen first hit the national scene with the release of his debut album, "Startin' with Me," which launched a trio of hit singles, including the title track, Yee Haw and Something about a Woman.

CD review - American Love Most everyone has made up their mind on bro-country music. Maybe you love the breezy images of the beach dippin' and sippin' lifestyle, or you write it off as empty headed and repetitive. Either way, Florida native Jake Owen was a torchbearer for the genre, and it's rewarded him well - four albums and five Number One singles (remember "Beachin"?). His career has been on a more-or-less upward arc, with higher-profile tours and bigger hits each time out. ...
CD review - Days of Gold Jake Owen aims to satisfy all comers (that is, if the current country is your thing), but the individual pieces don't quite add up. The songs may stand up on their own well enough, but when all is said and done, Owen remains an artist without much of an identity or sound. Take, for example, Beachin', one of countless country songs about the good life. Like many of his counterparts these days, there's a spoken, neo hip hop rap part to it. The song is breezy, on the catchy side, but ...
