For Carrie Underwood, it's Home Sweet Home

Monday, March 9, 2009 – Carrie Underwood recorded a remake of Motley Crue's Home Sweet Home for the new season of American Idol. The song, which debuts March 11, will air each week as the farewell theme for contestants leaving the show. "Home Sweet Home will release as a digital single, found exclusively at iTunes through March 16, and will subsequently be available at online music retailers everywhere.

Underwood, 19 Recordings and Sony Music Nashville will donate a portion of the sales proceeds to The Humane Society of the United States.

"I've always loved this song, and besides being very fitting for Idol, to me, the title is also very fitting with animal rescue and finding animals their own homes," Underwood said. "So, we felt it was important to tie the release into an amazing animal charity like The HSUS."

Underwood won American Idol in 2005.

CD review - Cry Pretty Carrie Underwood's life was reading straight from the storybooks: one of the few American Idol Winners with ongoing success; a professional athlete for a husband; a beautiful baby boy. The string of great fortune turned sharply in 2017, when Underwood began the unfathomable experience of three consecutive lost pregnancies. This was atop a frightening fall at her home that ended with her face in nearly 50 stitches. Sharing these moments with her fans makes the beamingly-beautiful singer ...
