Rodney Atkins heads to New York
Friday, March 27, 2009 – Rodney Atkins is heading to New York next week to promote the release of his new album, "It's America" (Curb Records). Atkins and band will kick things off, Tuesday March 31 live on NBC's Today Show (10 a.m. eastern) performing the Top 5 hit It's America.
This is Atkins' follow up to platinum-selling album "If You're Going Through Hell," which yielded 4 consecutive number 1 singles - two of which were also named most played songs of the year according to Billboard and Country Aircheck - Watching You in 2007 and If You're Going Through Hell in 2006.
When comparing the two records Atkins states, "We pushed the envelope some, groove-wise. We experimented with some grooves and tempos, but it's still the same subject matter. We didn't want to change that. I knew I wanted to keep making songs that folks can sing along with."
