Jason Aldean goes gold with "Wide Open"

Wednesday, June 24, 2009 – Jason Aldean's third album, "Wide Open," was certified gold by the RIAA in record time in 10 weeks. Aldean's previous 2 releases took 12 weeks to reach the 500,000 or gold mark in sales.

"It all comes down to great music and a lot of hard work and dedication by our entire team," said Broken Bow Records President Benny Brown. "We gave Jason and his producer Michael Knox the freedom to make the album Jason wanted to make, and they nailed it. Everyone who works on this project truly believes that Jason is the next superstar of our format, and that sort of passion is irreplaceable. We thank our friends at radio and retail, as well as Jason's family, band and crew, for being fantastic partners and helping us take his career to the next level."

The second single is Big Green Tractor, the fastest rising single of Aldean's career to date. He went number one with the lead-off single, She's Country.

The opener,"Tattoos and Tequila," breaks it down into tattoos to remember, and tequila to forget. Within its booze for every ...
CD review - Rearview Town If you liked Jason Aldean's three previous number one albums, you'll like "Rearview Town." He sticks to the winning formula that has brought him past success. The 15 tracks are mainly juiced up, muscular numbers with scorching guitar. Ironically, amid the torrid tempos and high volume that dominate the collection, the ballads are the standouts, especially with the duet with the Miranda Lambert on "Drowns The Whiskey." Instead of whiskey drowning a memory, the inverse ...
