Love And Theft overcomes obstacles, shoots video

Wednesday, July 8, 2009 – Love And Theft filmed a video in Memphis for their debut single Runaway.

Directed by Kristin Barlowe, the video was shot at an abandoned brewery in Memphis. The video story line follows Love And Theft - Brian Bandas, Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles - as they make a fast paced getaway from the existence that leaves them feeling trapped.

Liles played his part despite being sick all day from food poisoning. The engine in the 1971 Mustang Mach 1 featured in the video had to be rebuilt the morning of the video shoot. The car's power steering later failed during filming with Bandas behind the wheel.

The video can be seen on TV and online in the coming weeks in advance of the band's CD launch of "World Wide Open" on Aug. 25 on the Carolwood label.

The band opened shows for Taylor Swift last year and is now on the road meeting country radio.

After hitting number 1 with 2012's "Angel Eyes," they were dropped by RCA Nashville last year when their follow up singles flopped. With their final album for the label shelved and unable to legally recut the tracks they had recorded, "Whiskey On My ...
CD review - Love And Theft A lot has happened to Love and Theft since they debuted in 2009. They're down to a trio - Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles - since Brian Bandas left two years ago. They've switched labels as well, and instead of being forgotten after one hit single (Runaway), they're emerging again thanks to the single and lead-off track Angel Eyes. There's more than that going on though. Gunderson and Liles both sing well, trading leads and harmonizing often with each other (If You ...
CD review - World Wide Open What if you held auditions for lead singer within your band and everyone got the job? It happens. All three members of Love and Theft - Brian Bandas, Eric Gunderson, and Stephen Barker Liles - share the vocal duties, acting as each other's backups and plugging in harmonies (think early Eagles) wherever possible. In the wake of a tour opening for Taylor Swift, the pin-up gents from everywhere (Austin by way of Charlotte and Clearwater, Fla.) now venture forth with their debut to the eager ...
