CDB finds "It It All Begins With a Song"

Monday, July 27, 2009 – Charlie Daniels Band will perform in concert as part of NSAI's "It All Begins With a Song" Performance Series on Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville.

"NSAI is honored that an American icon of Charlie Daniels' stature recognizes our hard work in legislative advocacy on behalf of all songwriters. No one represents our motto, "It All Begins With a Song" better than the man whose music has crossed so many boundaries and genres to mark the moments of our lives," said NSAI President, Grammy-nominated songwriter Steve Bogard. "The CDB's help comes at a critical time in the music industry and will assist NSAI in continuing our important mission."

This show will be the first time since 2005's July 4 Riverfront Celebration that there has been a full CDB concert in Nashville.

"We are honored that Charlie wants to support our advocacy work for songwriters," said NSAI Executive Director Bart Herbison. "The truth is we are all huge fans and are so excited about this special night. And while we all love Charlie the artist, we also want to recognize his amazing songwriting. Did you know Charlie even wrote a song for Elvis Presley?"

His friends also include country singer Aaron Tippin (Christmas Time Down South) and folksinger Jewel (Blue Christmas). Daniels also made sure everybody knows full well that this is a Southern Christmas music collection. Song titles include Christmas Time Down South, Mississippi Christmas and A Carolina Christmas Carol. ...
CD review - Preachin', Prayin', Singin' DVD Charlie Daniels has his Southern rock personality (exemplified by The Devil Went Down To Georgia) and he also has his spiritual side (as he's known to join Billy Graham crusades now and again). But when the fiddler/guitarist first arrived in Nashville, he befriended folks like banjo great, Earl Scruggs, and his two sons, Gary and Randy. These three players appear with Daniels during this mainly bluegrass set, along with Del McCoury, The Whites and Mac Wiseman. Bluegrass gospel songs make up ...
