Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame inducts Underwood
Monday, September 21, 2009 – Carrie Underwood was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame during an induction ceremony and concert hosted at the Muskogee Civic Center in Muskogee, Okla. on Sept. 17.
Underwood joins previous fellow country singers Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Merle Haggard and Ronnie Dunn as members since the inception of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 1997. Underwood performed a concert for the attendee, which included all of her hits as well as her new single, Cowboy Casanova, from her forthcoming album "Play On" scheduled for release Nov. 3.
"I am so proud of where I come from," said Underwood. "I love my hometown and I love the people of Oklahoma for all their support. I am thrilled to be a part of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame with so many distinguished honorees."
