Gill, Harris play Leno Wednesday

Sunday, September 27, 2009 – The upcoming Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's All for the Hall Los Angeles fundraiser on Oct. 1 with Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Dwight Yoakam, Melissa Etheridge and friends performing together will be preceded the night before by a special duet from Harris and Gill on NBC's new primetime Jay Leno Show.

All for the Hall Los Angeles will offer an opportunity to see these singer-songwriters interact in a "guitar pull," where they will accompany one another as they take turns swapping songs, stories and personal recollections

The Museum launched All for the Hall, its' first-ever non-bricks-and-mortar fundraising campaign, in 2005. The campaign addresses the museum's need for long-term financial security and will provide a safety net for the institution and its work. This is the third year the event on the road, hosting previous All for the Hall events in New York in 2007 and 2008.

Since gracing Gram Parsons' solo albums in the early '70s, Harris' vocals have been among the most heavenly in contemporary music. Her latest effort, "Hard Bargain," is no exception. The disc soars on Harris' signature vocals, an exquisite intertwining of the earthy and ethereal. What makes this different than most of Harris' 30-plus albums is that ...
CD review - All I Intended To Be Emmylou Harris, the woman with the sweetest voice in country-folk music - who was recently inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame - returns with her first solo record since 2003. A mix of choice covers and originals, this assembles an A list of Nashville players to back Harris, but the most important instrument - her voice - remains the forefront and focus of these 13 songs. Marked by themes of faith and forgiveness, the disc was recorded with ex-husban Brian Ahern in Music City. ...
