Alan Jackson Collection coming

Thursday, October 22, 2009 – The Alan Jackson Collection, a 40-plus piece assortment of lifestyle items created in conjunction with Jackson, will be available only at Cracker Barrel beginning Nov. 2.

The collection features men's wear and women's wear, food items, collectibles, an Alan Jackson Signature Rocker and other exclusive items including a CD. "Songs of Love and Heartache." The CD has two previously unreleased songs, That's What I'd Be Like Without You and Nothing Sure Looked Good On You plus 10 other songs, including such hits as Here in the Real World, Livin On Love and Remember When.

The Alan Jackson Collection is the first time Cracker Barrel has developed a complete line of merchandise around a singer. Jackson was completely involved in the creation of the collection. He personally reviewed and approved all items and advised Cracker Barrel on what he thought might appeal to his fans.

"I grew up in the South, so Cracker Barrel has been a part of my family since I was a young man," said Jackson. "I was really flattered when they came to me with the idea of working together to create a collection for their country store, and I've been very impressed with the variety and quality of the items that we have put together. I think my fans and their families will appreciate everything in the collection."

The rocker is the centerpiece of The Alan Jackson Collection. The solid hardwood rocker is made of Dutch Spruce logs harvested in Maine and hand-assembled in Tennessee. Each rocker is numbered as part of a limited edition of 1,700.

The collection also includes mugs, candles, decorative throws, jewelry, shirts and hats. "Cracker Barrel has been focused for several years on providing our guests with great musical offerings that they can get only at our stores and this expansion into a complete, high quality, exclusive line of merchandise associated with Alan Jackson's lifestyle is a great next step," says Peter Keiser, Cracker Barrel's Vice President of Marketing. "The Alan Jackson Collection is a good way for Cracker Barrel to connect with our guests, and for our guests to connect with Alan."

Since 2003, Cracker Barrel has featured a music program that offers exclusive CDs by some of country music's most popular artists, such as George Jones and Alison Krauss. Earlier this year, Cracker Barrel added to the CD offerings when it worked with Dolly Parton to offer a Dolly-pink version of its signature rocking chair and an exclusive photo album.

CD review - Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story Tim O'Brien "Pompadour" Howdy Skies Records Reviewed by Donald Teplyske It is difficult to tally exactly how many albums of new material Tim O'Brien has released since first appearing as part of Hot Rize, the venerable bluegrass band experiencing a well-received resurgence. More than 20 by any count, 30-plus when one considers solo, duet and group offerings, including his most recent success as part of the Earls of Leicester. Aside from a brief flirtation with the ...
CD review - Angels and Alcohol Alan Jackson, circa 2015, now might be, unfortunately, considered a retro artist. Jackson, thankfully, does not veer from his traditional country beat on his first new studio disc in three years. It's the traditional sound that makes him a throwback today. In an age of rock and rap meshing with country, Jackson will have none of that on this meat-and-potatoes rendering. Jackson's viewpoint has always been about the simple truths of life. He makes that clear in the leadoff track, ...
CD review - The Bluegrass Album Alan Jackson makes his statement crystal clear with the title - "The Bluegrass Album." The traditional country singer has "gone bluegrass," although the idea of a bluegrass disc should not come off as all that far fetched. Yes, there's no pedal steel here, but the sounds, subject and voice are not very different from a typical AJ disc. And this is not the first time that Jackson has veered off the straight and narrow path as his gospel albums indicated. ...
