Miranda Lambert set for soph release
Lambert wrote or co-write 8 or the 11 songs on the new disc. Patty Griffin and Gillian Welch contributed songs as well. The closing song "Easy From Now On" was written by Carlene Carter and Susanna Clark and recorded by Emmylou Harris on her "Quarter Moon In A Ten Cent Town" album in 1978.
"You can take each song on this album and compare it to the first record, and you can see that it's an upgrade," said Lambert. "It shows two years of growth. I also let people in a lot a lot more than I did on the last record - so I'm a little scared, but I'm proud."
"Kerosene," released in 2005, debuted as the number 1 Country Record in the nation making the Texas singer/songwriter only the sixth country artist in the history of SoundScan to enter the country albums chart at number 1 on their very first release.
In two weeks, Lambert heads out with Toby Keith on the road.
