Band Perry trio makes Opry debut
Wednesday, November 18, 2009
– Friday the 13th proved to be a lucky day for the Band Perry because the trio made their Grand Ole Opry debut last Friday.
The Republic Nashville act consists of siblings Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry, performing their first single, Hip to My Heart, along with another self-penned song, If I Die Young.
Kimberly Perry said, "Debuting at the Opry on The Ryman stage was a holy moment for the three of us. Few nights of our lives will ever compare. Backstage felt like country music in the days of Hank, Patsy and Cash - Little Jimmy Dickens was standing at the artist entrance when we walked in, shaking our hands. We're so honored to have had the opportunity to be part of the Friday evening Opry lineup."
The song is at 47 on the Billboard/BDS country chart.

The Band Perry gets its name from the fact that all three of its members are siblings. There's Kimberly Perry, who sings lead, in addition to playing piano and guitar. Her brother Reid Perry is the bassist, while Neil Perry plays drums, mandolin and accordion. The centerpiece song of this five-track EP is the single If I Die Young, which is made all the more striking by the fact that it's also sung by a young lady. Being young is usually no time to contemplate death - leave that to the old folks. ...
