Aldean goes for the gold
Monday, December 7, 2009 – Eight months after its release, Jason Aldean's third studio album, "Wide Open," was certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of 1 million copies. Aldean is the only solo country artist in 2009 to release an album and earn platinum status in the same calendar year.
"Getting my first platinum album back in 2006 was one of the proudest moments in my career so far," said Aldean. "Put this one at the top of that list too. 2009 was a really special year for me, and I have so much to be thankful for going into the holidays."
The CD debuted at number 1 spot on the country charts for 6 weeks with She's Country, Big Green Tractor andThe Truth.

Jason Aldean's 10th studio album "Georgia "initially seems like yeoman's effort. As the second half of a double album that follows last year's "Macon," the collection boasts 30 songs; 20 are new.
