Americana lyrics auction closes soon

Thursday, December 17, 2009 – Willie Nelson, Patty Griffin, Robert Plant, Jim Lauderdale and Mary Chapin Carpenter are among the artist who stepped up to the auction plate to help the Americana Music Association by donating handwritten lyrics to songs they penned.

The auction closes Thursday afternoon.

Among the items up for auction are Nelson's On the Road Again, Guy Clark's LA Freeway, Emmylou Harris' Tulsa Queen, Kix Brooks' Red Dirt Road, Peter Frampton's Baby I Love Your Way and Nanci Griffith's The Loving Kind.

One auction - the handwritten lyrics to Michael Martin Murphey's Wildfire will end on Sunday.
