Lady Antebellum goes platinum with Need You Now

Thursday, December 17, 2009 – Lady Antebellum's hit lead single Need You Now from the trio's second disc, was certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of more than one million.

The track is the lead single and title cut of their disc out Jan. 26, 2010. Need You Now set a new record for the longest reign at number one this year with five consecutive weeks in the top spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The song also cracked the Top Five on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and parked at number one for eight weeks on the Billboard Canada Country chart.

Lady A fans can buy new songs off the album before its release as part of the band's iTunes Countdown. Need You Now" and second single American Honey will officially kick off the countdown, starting on Dec. 21. Thereafter, 1 new track will be released at iTunes each week leading up to the album's Jan. 26 debut. The iTunes Complete My Album service allows customers to turn their individually purchased tracks into a complete album by giving them a full 99 cent credit for every song they have previously bought from that album.
