Alan Jackson rolls on with "Freight Train"
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 – Alan Jackson will release his 18th album, "Freight Train," on March 30. The disc was produced by longtime collaborator Keith Stegall and features 12 songs, 1 of which is Jackson's new single, the Stegall co-write, It's Just That Way.
Jackson wrote or co-wrote 8 of the 12 songs, including one with Roger Murrah. In tribute to Vern Gosdin, who passed away last year and for whom Jackson has long expressed admiration, Jackson enlisted Lee Ann Womack to record Til the End, Gosdin's 1977 classic duet with Janie Fricke.
It's Just That Way is one of three songs on the album to feature bluegrass singer Rhonda Vincent on background vocals.
