Sugarland, Zac Brown, Hough cut We are the World
Tuesday, February 2, 2010 – Sugarland, Zac Brown and Julianne Hough were among the 81 performers cutting a remake of the 1985 charity anthem We are the World. Proceeds from the new version, cut Monday with Quincy Jones once at the helm, will go to the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.
Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Bieber, P!nk, Carlos Santana, Tony Bennett, Brian Wilson and Al Jardine of the Beach Boys, Rob Thomas, Randy Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart and the Jonas Brothers were among the participants.
Actor Jeff Bridges, who has gained much acclaim for his role of a down-and-out country singer in the movie "Crazy Hearts," also participated.
Hough said in a Twitter post, "What an unforgetable day! We are the world remake with the most respected, creative and inspirational artists of our time! Im very honored!"
