Lady A tops charts with 480K sold

Wednesday, February 3, 2010 – Lady Antebellum's sophomore album, "Need You Now," scored the number one position on the Billboard Top 200 chart today with sales hitting more than 480,000 units.

"We are absolutely stunned...the love and support we were feeling last week from the fans and everyone around us was so incredible," said Lady A's Dave Haywood. "These songs are about our lives...they're really personal...and to be getting such awesome feedback from everyone who bought the record is so validating. Thank you, Lady A fans...see you on the road soon."

Lady Antebellum's self-titled debut hit number 4 with 43,000 in its opening week in May 2008. This week, in the disc's 94th week on the chart, it climbs 1 spot to 15 with 31,000 (up 32 percent).

The opening week sales was the biggest in January since the Game's "The Documentary" with 587,000 at number 1 in 2005.
