Lady A has a million reasons to be happy
Wednesday, February 24, 2010 – Lady Antebellum became the first act to have a million selling album in 2010 with "Need You Know" reaching that landmark. Lady A, which has the number 2 selling disc in the U.S. behind Sade's "Soldier of Love," sold 144,000 this past week, down 31 percent. The disc has now sold, 1,041,000 units in 4 weeks of release.
Josh Turner was at ninth on the overall chart and second on the country roll call with "Haywire." Turner sold 33,000 units, down 62 percent. Right behind Turner was Taylor Swift's "Fearless," staying 10th, with 32,000 in sales, a 35-percent drop.
Album sales continue their downward plunge. Overall sales are down 12 percent compared to the comparable week in 2009.
