Josh Kelley, Randy Montana open Lady A Ryman shows

Thursday, March 4, 2010 – Lady Antebellum is keeping their Ryman dates in the family. The trio announced today that Universal Music's Josh Kelley, brother of Lady A's Charles, and Randy Montana will join their back-to-back sold out concerts on March 10 and 11.

Kelley and Montana will debut a selection of new music with short acoustic sets prior to Lady A's headlining debut at the Ryman.

"It's funny to think about all the bands Josh and I started when we were little kids in Augusta...my favorite was named 'Spork,' and I was the drummer!" said Charles Kelley. "We've come a long way, that's for sure. I'm so proud that we'll be on the Ryman stage together on the same night.it'll be a family affair all the way around"

"And, I've known Randy for a really long time because we're both from Nashville," said Hillary Scott. "We respect him so much as a songwriter, and we are all three just big big fans. We feel really blessed to be in a position to offer some of our friends the same shot that we were offered a few years ago. I think back to our first tour with Martina...what an amazing opportunity that was...that's the great thing about the Nashville music community...we're always tryin' to help each other."

Singer/songwriter Josh Kelley recently joined the Universal Music Group Nashville family signing with MCA Nashville in September 2009. He is currently in the studio recording his first country album and is expected to release his debut single later this year. Kelley has experienced plenty of musical success with the release of his six previous studio albums including "For The Ride Home," which featured his top five hit Amazing.

Mercury Nashville singer/songwriter Montana's music merges country with a rocking guitar-driven sound. Montgomery Gentry has recorded a track he penned and Emmylou Harris harmonizes with him on a track for his eponymous debut, due out later this year. Jay Joyce produced him. Montana's debut single Ain't Much Left Of Lovin' You goes to radio March 8 and will be available for purchase on iTunes March 16.

Lady Antebellum sold out the 2 Ryman shows in 15 minutes. They are currently nominated for a record seven Academy of Country Music Awards and will perform on the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday, March 8.

CD reviews for Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum)

CD review - Ocean Lady Antebellum may lean a little too closely to pop music for many tastes, but it's hard to argue with the trio's song choices. And its latest collection is filled with many memorable songs. The single "What If I Never Get Over You," poses a rarely asked pop song question. Humans have come to believe the cliché, 'Time heals all wounds,' as if it were some sort of scientific fact. But what if it's just that, a well-worn cliché, with no actual ...
CD review - Heart Break Lady Antebellum may cause you to throw out many of your country music principles. They don't sing and play traditional country music, for starters. They're not cool like more rocking Americana artists. In fact, they're huge mainstream country stars. So, why are some of us still suckers for their sound? And why does the new "Heart Break" sound so good on the ears? Well, it's simple, but complicated. Hillary Scott is simply a wonderfully sincere singer. ...

CD review - 747 Six albums into its career, Lady Antebellum pretty much has the formula down pat. Either Hillary Scott or long and lanky Charles Kelley assumes lead vocals with Dave Haywood also providing vocals plus guitars and mandolin in a bunch of songs easy on the ears with a story often involving a lust for love. The typical song ("Lie With Me," for example) starts with Kelly or Scott taking a stanza, followed by the other with both then tackling the chorus together. This has worked quite well ...
