Underwood's Play On Tour ready to get going

Tuesday, March 9, 2010 – Carrie Underwood's "Play On Tour," will kick off this Thursday, March 11 in Reading, Pa. with special guests Craig Morgan and Sons of Sylvia. The "Play On Tour," is currently slated to run through June 20 in Saskatoon, Canada.

The tour apparently plans to bring Underwood to the back of the crowd at one point.

Underwood's previous tour, 2008's highly successful "Carnival Ride Tour," wrapped after 137 shows with more than 1.2 million fans in attendance.

Underwood is a six-time 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) nominee and the reigning 2009 ACM Entertainer of the Year.

Craig Morgan is new on the charts with his latest single, This Ain't Nothin', from his BNA Records album, "That's Why," which also features his recent hits, Bonfire and Love Remembers.

Sons of Sylvia are currently finishing up their debut album release on 19 Recordings/Interscope Records due this spring. Ashley, Austin, and Adam Clark (formerly known as The Clark Brothers who won FOX's Next Great American Band) are longtime friends of Underwood, and the band is currently featured on her new album in a collaboration called What Can I Say.

CD reviews for Carrie Underwood

CD review - My Savior Carrie Underwood's gospel music album may not be traditional in the sense that she sings these songs the same way she heard them as a child growing up. However, on the traditional/modern country music spectrum, this album leans closer to traditional country music than just about anything Underwood's recorded. Underwood always sings well, no matter how her songs are arranged, but it's a true treat to hear that voice without much of the big production that usually accompanies it. ...
CD review - My Gift It makes logical sense that Carrie Underwood, arguably mainstream country music's best pure vocalist, would make a Christmas album. And make no mistake about it, this is a 'Christmas' album, as opposed to a 'holiday' release. These 11 tracks are nearly all spiritual in nature. Therefore, you won't hear about Santa, reindeer or even toys under the tree. The only truly secular track is "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," which is not – by a long ...
CD review - Cry Pretty Carrie Underwood's life was reading straight from the storybooks: one of the few American Idol Winners with ongoing success; a professional athlete for a husband; a beautiful baby boy. The string of great fortune turned sharply in 2017, when Underwood began the unfathomable experience of three consecutive lost pregnancies. This was atop a frightening fall at her home that ended with her face in nearly 50 stitches. Sharing these moments with her fans makes the beamingly-beautiful singer ...
