Country Music Hall damaged by floods
Monday, May 3, 2010 – The Country Music Hall of Fame suffered damage from the heavy rains and flooding of the Cumberland River that hit the Nashville area over the weekend, although no exhibits were in danger.
Water reportedly reached the third row of the Ford Theater in the museum's lower level. A decision will not be made until Tuesday about whether to open the museum that day. Earlier in the day, floodwaters were in a basement mechanical room.
The nearby Schermerhorn Symphony Center suffered damage with water flooding the basement and nearing the concert hall.
Water also flooded parts of the Grand Ole Opry House at the Opryland resort, but the extent of the damage was unknown.
