Carrie Underwood marries

Saturday, July 10, 2010 – Carrie Underwood married National Hockey League player Mike Fisher Saturday under a tent on the grounds of the Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation, a resort in Greensboro, Ga.

"We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!" the couple said in a written statement to People.

Among the guests were American Idol judges Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, along with former judge Paula Abdul, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

About 250 family and friends were at the wedding.

The couple announced their engagement in December 2009. Their relationship began following an introduction at one of her concerts in Ottawa in March 2008. Fisher plays center for the Ottawa Senators.
