Louvin recovers from cancer surgery
Friday, August 6, 2010 – Charlie Louvin is recovering at home following pancreatic cancer surgery.
On July 22, Louvin, who was one half of the Louvin Brothers, went in for a complex, six-hour surgery at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, known as a whipple procedure.
A report from his son, Sonny, said Louvin was home recuperating and gaining his strength back. "He is in great spirits looking forward to singing again," a publicist said. Louvin is look to host the Midnight Jamboree in Nashville on Aug. 21.
Louvin also has a new CD, "The Battle Rages On," this fall on True North.
