Urban readies TV gigs next week

Friday, November 12, 2010 – Keith Urban will make national television visits next week in support of sixth studio album, "Get Closer," out Nov. 16. Urban will appear on CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX Television Networks.

Urban, fresh from his performance of his new single Put You In A Song on the CMA Awards will arrive in New York City on Tuesday, Nov. 16, just prior to his Today Show appearance on Wednesday, Nov. 17. He'll appear on CBS' The Early Show on Nov. 18 and will be in Chicago to tape his performance on The Oprah Winfrey Show that same day. Urban's appearance will air later this month.

Urban will be on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on Sunday, Nov. 14 and will perform at halftime on FOX's Thanksgiving Day football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints.

Hulu will also be exclusively premiering the 30-minute documentary; "Count Me In...An Inside Look At Get Closer" on Tuesday, Nov. 16, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the new album. Urban will have his own Hulu page highlighting the documentary, his music videos at www.hulu.com/keith-urban .

CD review - Graffiti U It's telling how two songs on Keith Urban's "Graffiti U" album chug along to a reggae beat because pop rhythms and non-country elements are the obvious inspirations for this collection. Opener "Coming Home" may borrow (steal?) a guitar riff from Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried," but this is where that country road begins and ends. Urban follows "Coming Home" with "Never Comin' Down," which is introduced with a funky bass line ...
