Underwood wraps Play On tour
Tuesday, January 4, 2011 – Carrie Underwood wrapped her 2010 headline arena tour, the "Play On Tour," Thursday night in Connecticut after performing 108 shows across the U.S. and Canada, and with 1 million fans attending since its launch last March.
Underwood was the top-ranked female country touring artist of 2010, as she was in 2008. Special guests over the course of the tour this past year included Craig Morgan, Billy Currington and Sons of Sylvia.
The tour carried 80 personnel on the road, traveling over 35,000 miles in 13 trucks and 8 buses.
During the fall leg, Underwood donated 36 cents of every ticket sold to Save the Children's United States Programs. This initiative was inspired by the "36 cents" written in the lyrics of her album track Change, which addresses how even the smallest bit of spare change that one might have can add up to make a difference and help "change" the world.

However, on the traditional/modern country music spectrum, this album leans closer to traditional country music than just about anything Underwood's recorded. Underwood always sings well, no matter how her songs are arranged, but it's a true treat to hear that voice without much of the big production that usually accompanies it. ...
It makes logical sense that Carrie Underwood, arguably mainstream country music's best pure vocalist, would make a Christmas album. And make no mistake about it, this is a 'Christmas' album, as opposed to a 'holiday' release. These 11 tracks are nearly all spiritual in nature. The only truly secular track is "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," which is not – by a long ...
Carrie Underwood's life was reading straight from the storybooks: one of the few American Idol Winners with ongoing success; a professional athlete for a husband; a beautiful baby boy. The string of great fortune turned sharply in 2017, when Underwood began the unfathomable experience of three consecutive lost pregnancies. This was atop a frightening fall at her home that ended with her face in nearly 50 stitches. Sharing these moments with her fans makes the beamingly-beautiful singer ...
