Crazy Heart,"The Weary Kind" wins Grammys

Sunday, February 13, 2011 – "Crazy Heart" from Stephen Burton and T Bone Burnett won the Grammy on Sunday for Compilation Soundtrack Album. The song, The Weary Kind from the movie took Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media.

Burnett accepted the award in Los Angeles in pre-television ceremonies. Bruton passed away in 2009 of complications from throat cancer. "This movie was very much Stephen Bruton's movie," said Burnett.

Johnny Nicholas, a friend of Bruton, also spoke. Referring to Bruton's ddeds and kindnesses, "Stephen cut a wide path...We miss you deeply Stephen. No one deserves a Grammy more than you."

Bingham took the Grammy for The Weary Kind along with Burnett. Bingham showed up on stage for the usual thanks for those who helped make the music. Otheres nominated were Lucinda Williams for Kiss Like Your Kiss from "True Blood" and Steve Earle for This City from "Treme."
