Urban premieres Without Now video

Tuesday, March 15, 2011 – Keith Urban will premiere the music video for his new single Without You on iTunes, CMT and GAC today.

The video was shot at Soundstage in Hollywood by Grammy nominated director Chris Hicky, who has previously directed Urban's videos. To coincide with the video's release, all of Urban's albums will be on sale on iTunes for the entire week. Without You is the second single from the gold certified CD "Get Closer" and Urban's follow up to his 24th Top 5 hit Put You in a Song.

"We wanted to keep the video simple by trying not to be too literal with the story and making sure we compliment the song. We had a good time making it so hopefully the fans love it, too. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone out on the road soon," said Urban.

The black and white video places Urban in a sparse room where the white walls are soon filled with film projections of life on the road and time spent with family. Written by Dave Pahanish and Joe West, Urban said of the song, "It was uncanny how much it was suited to my life. I think if I'd written something like this, I would have felt it was not poetically disguised enough. Maybe it's because I didn't write it that I was able to hear how authentic and truthful it is."

Urban will be a featured performer at the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on April 3. He is a three-time nominee (Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist and Vocal Event of the Year for Blue Sky with Emily West). Fans can vote now on the Entertainer of the Year award

Following the awards, Urban will kick off his et Closer 2011 World Tour in Australia heading back to the states on June 16 for the North American leg of the tour.

CD reviews for Keith Urban

CD review - High Following hits "Straight Line," "Wildside" and "Go Home W U" featuring Lainey Wilson, Keith Urban drops thematically driven and pleasantly electrifying album "High," a nearly four-year drop since 2020's "The Speed of Now Part 1." Urban took great interest in feelings and experiences associated with the word "high," reflecting on his own passions approaching the sensation or "place of utopia" as Urban dubs it . ...
CD review - THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1 It's getting tougher and tougher all the time to justify categorizing Keith Urban's music as country. "The Speed of Now, Pt. 1" doesn't help. (What, is there a pt. 2 of this largely lame music on the way? Say it ain't so!) It's a relatively good pop album, for a Nashville pop effort, but there's just too much real country (Jon Pardi, Luke Combs) getting played on mainstream radio these days. The world just doesn't really need new Urban pop music. ...
CD review - Graffiti U It's telling how two songs on Keith Urban's "Graffiti U" album chug along to a reggae beat because pop rhythms and non-country elements are the obvious inspirations for this collection. Opener "Coming Home" may borrow (steal?) a guitar riff from Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried," but this is where that country road begins and ends. Urban follows "Coming Home" with "Never Comin' Down," which is introduced with a funky bass line ...
