Craig Morgan honored for life saving efforts

Monday, March 21, 2011 – Craig Morgan was honored Saturday night for his efforts in rescuing two small children from a house fire last month.

Four members of the Tennessee City Volunteer Fire Department (TCVFD) gathered backstage at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville Saturday evening to recognize Morgan for his actions in February saving two small children from a house fire in Charlotte, Tenn.

On behalf of the TCVFD and the National Volunteer Fire Council, Morgan was presented an award for his courageous efforts. He was also awarded honorary lifetime membership to the Tennessee City Fire Department will full rights and privileges as a member, including his own helmet and department identification number, #565.

"I'm humbled by this kind recognition from the Tennessee City Volunteer Fire Department and the National Volunteer Fire Council," said Morgan. "They are the real hometown heroes."
