Vince Gill hosts Academy of Country Music golf tourney

Monday, April 16, 2007 – Vince Gill will host the Academy of Country Music Celebrity Golf Classic for a third year in a row as part of the ACM Awards show festivities. The golf classic, a fund-raising effort on behalf of the ACM Charitable Fund, will be Monday, May 14th, the day before the ceremony itself.

"The Academy is honored that Vince Gill has chosen once again to host the Academy of Country Music Celebrity Golf Classic. His continued generosity and enthusiasm for this event has greatly contributed to its success over the last three years," comments Gayle Holcomb, Chairman of the Board for the Academy of Country Music. "I am not going to lie though...it would be nice to beat his team this year. They have been dominating, and I am looking forward to taking on the challenge."

The golf tournament will exclusively cater to a sold out group of 100 golfers.

Fortunately, Vince Gill is about as prolific as they come these days, and this daring four-disc release only is further proof of that. Each disc is divvied up depending on his mood, with the opening "Working On A Big Chill" album being "The Rockin' Record." And this album sets things off right with the lovely mid-tempo and groovy title track. ...
