The Gourds prep for tour

Monday, August 1, 2011 – The Gourds are gearing up for a 37-date summer and fall tour.

The band will be touring around the release of their next CD "Old Mad Joy," out Sept. 13 on Vanguard. The Gourds will also be performing during this year's Americana Music Conference in Nashville at the Mercy Lounge on Oct. 12.

The CD was recorded at Levon Helm Studios with producer Larry Campbell (musical director of Helm's 'Midnight Rambles' and formerly with Bob Dylan).

CD review - Haymaker! For the past 15 years, The Gourds have been known for their legendary stamina. Live shows are events that attract loyal (and testosterone-heavy) audiences. The buzz around their latest is that it captures that live show energy. That's a pretty big promise.
