Church tops charts
Wednesday, August 3, 2011 – Eric Church aptly named his new CD "Chief," because the disc is the leading when it comes to sales in the U.S. Church's third album sold 145,000 units, according to Billboard.com. Church is also number one on the country chart for the first time.
"Chief" outdid 2009's "Carolina," which sold 31,000 in its first week out. The disc is 4,000 units short of going gold.
Jason was fourth, up four, with "My Kinda Party." The disc sold 42,000 units, down 4 percent. Blake Shelton was eighth with "Red River Blue," at 31,000 units sold, down 34 percent.
