Morgan raises $95K for charity

Thursday, August 11, 2011 – Craig Morgan's 5th annual Charity Motocross Ride, Concert and Sporting Clay Shoot raised more than $95,000, more than the last two years' events totals combined.

Proceeds from the weekend's activities benefit Billy's Place, which is supporting children's causes in Middle Tennessee and working toward building a home for temporarily displaced children in Morgan's hometown of Dickson, just outside Nashville.

"It's amazing how much this event has grown over the last five years, and I'm over-the-top grateful to everyone from our celebrity friends and the Dickson and Middle Tennessee communities for their support," said Morgan. "We raised a record high amount this year for Billy's Place, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to do more for the children and families of Dickson. I already can't wait to do it again next year."

The highest bidder for a chance to give Morgan a high and tight haircut was former NFL player Robb Nelson, raising $1,200.

Joining Morgan for the day's adventures were country music celebrities Bucky Covington and Sarah Darling. Pam Tillis also joined for a concert at night.

Morgan's new single This Ole Boy was recently released by Black River Entertainment. Written by Ben Hayslip, Dallas Davidson, and Rhett Atkins, the title track and lead single from Morgan's new album, expected early 2012. Morgan can also be seen in the second season of his Outdoor Channel series, "Craig Morgan All Access Outdoors," with episodes airing throughout the year.

But he's still a Grand Ole Opry member and signed with a new label in 2019. What's intriguing about this collection ...
Craig Morgan has been called "country music's champion of the everyman." Not only did the native of Kingston Springs, Tenn. spend more than 10 years in the U.S. Army, when he came home he worked construction, wore the badge of a sheriff's deputy and even did time at a Walmart. For his first album of original material in four years as and his second for Black River, he makes it abundantly clear in the liner notes that he is a devout Christian and the tone of the album reflects ...
CD review - This Ole Boy Craig Morgan likes to keep things simple. Once dubbed "country music's champion of the Everyman" he is best known best known for songs that espouse the core values of the genre: Faith ( That's What I Love About Sunday), good times, ( Redneck Yacht Club) and helping others ( Almost Home ). We get much of the same on "This Ole Boy," his first new music in three years and debut with Black River Entertainment. Disappointingly, the patriotism, religion and love ...
