Eli Young Band get their plaques

Friday, August 12, 2011 – Eli Young Band already knew their hit single Crazy Girl was certified gold by the RIAA for sales of more than 500,000 downloads, but on Monday they received their plaques from their Republic Nashville label.

. The single made its debut at number 1 on iTunes and has sold an average of 40,000 downloads a week for the last month. With sales of more than 650,000 downloads to date, this week, the song climbs to 18 on Billboard Country Songs Chart.

"When you walk into a recording studio, you see these gold records on the wall and wonder what it takes to get there," said bassist Jon Jones. "We're very lucky Crazy Girl is gold. Making a gold record has been one of our goals since we started making music. It's a dream come true for us."

"When the Eli Young Band came to Republic Nashville there were a lot of promises made," said label executive Scott Borchetta. "Today, on the eve of the release week for their debut album on Republic Nashville, we get to check one of those promises off...Crazy Girl is a Gold single."

"We need more bands like EYB. Great bands who come about this honestly, hard working, brotherhood, the real stuff. Always love it when our brothers do good. On behalf of myself, Jimmy and all at Republic Nashville, well done guys."

CD review - Fingerprints Eli Young Band confused, alienated and even lost some of its fans with the 2015 release of a fully slicked up pop EP; "Turn It On." "The fans wanted another record that was the sound and the kind of songs that were the old-school Eli Young Band" said lead singer Mike Eli. They have responded with "Fingerprints," their first full length album since 2014's "10,000 Towns." Though clearly not as blatantly pop as the downright danceable EP, ...

Singer Mike Eli, who co-wrote all four songs, is in fine voice, solidifying the EYB sound. The title cut, written with co-founder James Young, with its strong beat and up-front vocals, is tailor-made for listening while driving fast. With its "driving" beat and sing-along chorus, speeding tickets may increase. "Plastic" is about appreciating a girl who is ...
